Routing Information Protocol

 

Routing Information Protocol atau bisa disingkat RIP merupakan salah satu routing yang open standard artinya dapat diterapkan pada beberapa router.RIP memilik batasan hops network untuk mengurangi beban kinerja bandwidth karena setiap 30 detik RIP akan melakukan pembaharuan network untuk mengidefikasi(mengenali)apakah ada network baru yang terhubung atau tidak. 

 

Kenggulan RIPv2


  • Ini adalah protokol standar.
  • Ini sesuai dengan VLSM.
  • Ini mengirimkan pembaruan yang dipicu ketika jaringan berubah

Kelemahan RIPv2

 

  • Maksimal jumlah hop 15
  • Pembaharuan jaringan setiap 30 detik,dapat menyebabkan pembengkakan penggunaan bandwidth
